Established in 1850 by Thomas Pickett, Picketts & Pursers are understandably proud of a splendid and truly unique trading heritage as one of Hampshire’s longest established family firms.

Setting up his first shop in Victorian Britain, little could Thomas Pickett imagine that he was laying the foundations of a business that would flourish and continue to prosper for over a century and a half. A firm that would trade through two world wars and witness the change of some 45 Prime Ministers, perhaps most remarkably five generations of the same family have presided over this historic institution for 160 years.

The 1920’s saw the business expand with the acquisition of John Purser & Sons "Jewellers to the Admiralty" and the name of Picketts & Pursers was born!

Today Picketts & Pursers enjoy two prestigious locations in Petersfield and Southampton, our showrooms housing wonderfully diverse and exciting collections of fine jewellery, silver, watches and clocks. There are designs to suit every taste, excellence of workmanship and quality being our criteria of choice.

In some ways little has changed in over a century and a half of trading, whether simply having a new watch battery fitted or selecting from our finest diamonds, you may be assured of the same warm and friendly welcome, thus ensuring the high standards set by Thomas Pickett 160 years ago continue to be maintained.

Whilst we are naturally proud of such history we are conscious this has been created by the wealth of goodwill and support provided by our wonderful and longstanding customers over so many years.

Our website shows just a small cross section of our overall range of merchandise whilst also explaining some of the services we are pleased to offer.
